It’s Friday! And we are hitting it up for a double whammie of Back to Basics before the weekend! Whew! I have never done this kind of series before, and it was a lot of work, but also so rewarding to be able to share this piece. Thank you for reading and messaging me! It means so much, I’m just beaming ear to ear over here 😀
On the finale of the B2B series, I doubled up with a deadly, stellar combo.
The Black Ankle Boot + The Blazer.
The Black Ankle Boot
Every Fall, I say goodbye to my beautiful sandals, and my classy open-toed lovelies, and I bust out one of my favourite shoes of all time. A forever classic, and symbolic piece for Fall, the black bootie will always be there for you. It is so versatile and a great way to complete a look, whether its pairing it with a dress, or throwing them on with some skinny jeans and a chunky sweater. I find while I have other colours of boots, the black bootie is always a safe bet (which is a good thing!).
It’s a good idea to spend a little more on a pair of black booties. The money is worth the comfort and functionality of the boot in the long run. So here are 5 black ankle boots I would love to get my hands on!

A perfect way to have a day-to-night look is by incorporating a blazer. There are so many options out there! If your style is more casual, you grab a loose fitting blazer with stretch. If you are one for the trends, then you can pick yourself up a lovely checked blazer. Whatever your cup of tea, the blazer is a clean-cut silhouette that gives you structure to your outfit without having to think twice.
I’ve put together some of my faves below! The blue one by Massimo Dutti is my favourite! I’d love to pair it with a satin skirt or just chuck it over a black skinny jean and white graphic tee. What a great way to incorporate color! Drooooll.
The bonus to any extra layer is that I get extra warmth, and where I’m from (YEG), I’m gonna need it.
I hope you enjoyed reading these as much as I had fun writing them!
Love, Roya Isabella
